Contacting our Staff
Mini Schools - at MBI we have four Mini Schools that are a combination of Year 7 and Year 8 students. Our Mini Schools are: Rangitoto RURU, Tiritiri TAKAHE, Motutapu MATUKU, and Kawau KEA, based on neighbouring islands in the Hauraki Gulf and native New Zealand birds. Our Mini Schools help foster a strong sense of community and belonging. Throughout the school year, a variety of competitions and team building activities take place to strengthen student pride within the school.
Homeroom Class - each student is part of a mini school with a designated class and homeroom teacher. This teacher is responsible for teaching the core subjects: Mathematics, Literacy (Reading, Writing and Oral Language), Inquiry Units (Science & Social Science), PE & Health.
